4-H Valentine Carnival 2010

Ethan , age 7, and Willow, age 4.  Both love hamming it up for the camera at the 4-H Valentine Carnival.

Ethan was elected 4-H Valentine King for his 4-H club and put out canisters to collect money donations at various businesses to be used to help with local and county 4-H activities and awards.  Each 4-H club in the county participated.  The King & Queen that collected the most donations was awarded County 4-H Queen or King.  Although Ethan did not collect enough to be crowned County King, he had a good time helping collect donations.  Heather, our club's 4-H Valentine Queen was crowned County Queen.  She collected over $500.  Way to go Heather!

Here Willow just received a big kiss from the kissing booth.  Isn't she cute!

Willow decided to have a go at the roping booth.  The gentleman in the picture helped each of the inexperienced little ones get a taste of what it is like to rope.  You can tell by the look on her face that she enjoyed it.

Ethan and Willow decided to take a break and  share a piece of one of the many pies that were up for judging in the pie baking contest.  It  looks like Ethan wants to make sure it is okay before  eating his share.

I guess Willow gave the thumbs up for this one.  (laugh)

Ethan entered a pie in the contest too!  This is his Apple Shortbread Pie.  Although his pie didn't place, he received a special award for his efforts.  Perhaps he'll try again next year.
